Perspective + Perseverance Pays off
“I visited University Career Services a few times within my freshman year attempting to sharpen my interview skills and to compete against upperclassmen and others currently looking for jobs and internships. Being a freshman led me to think that there was no hope in me gaining the opportunity to obtain an internship, but I was wrong. I learned that it’s not impossible; it just takes time, practice, and much dedication. After a few visits and scheduled mock interviews, I applied and heard back from a few companies – one in particular was Kaiser Permanente. The company had been on the search for finance and accounting majors who were looking to gain experience in the field. All of the advice and guidance that I was given through University Career Services really helped me to answer any questions my interviewer had, and it helped me to be better prepared. I accepted the offer to intern with Kaiser Permanente and couldn’t be happier!”
