“My interview started off on the right foot: “So, Georgia State,” one of the VPs said with my resume in hand, “the best hire I ever made was from Georgia State.” This would hardly be surprising were we in Atlanta, but since the interview was with a technology company over 800 miles west in Oklahoma City, I was surprised the Panther influence had spread so far.
Building a career in human resource technology after finishing my MA in Philosophy at Georgia State University has been an exciting challenge, and one my time in Atlanta prepared me well for. As much as I miss studying in a nationally ranked department and teaching Intro to Philosophy on the fourth floor of Aderhold, I am very grateful for my job at Oklahoma’s top rated workplace and I know my versatile education in the humanities at Georgia State University helped me develop a skillset to be successful, adaptable and highly employable for the rest of my career.”
