"When I came from India, I had zero knowledge of internships and co-ops. Furthermore, I did not even know whether freshmen could get an internship or not.
I visited University Career Services in search of on-campus jobs. They not only helped me in finding a great on-campus job but also told me about co-op/intern session and job fairs. After attending the job fair in my first month, I discovered what companies want. So, I started working hard on making myself capable of getting an internship.
I attended hackathons and completed projects – some went so well that my team won prizes! By the end of January, I applied to around 10 companies, but I always got rejections. I never gave up. I kept on updating my resume and continued applying to different companies. In March, after attending Hack Emory and completing a great project, I applied to Panasonic and got a call for an interview. I thank University Career Services from the core of my heart for making me realize my capabilities."
