Policies & Procedures

The Employer Relations team members serve as liaisons between recruiters and students. This team manages on-campus recruiting sessions and generates opportunities for students to meet face to face with employers. We encourage all recruiters to stay abreast of our employer policies procedures. 

University Career Services (UCS) has established the following Third-Party Recruiting policy:

Agreement that the agency, organization, or individual is a third-party recruiter as defined in the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Principles for Third-Party Recruiters.

Adherence to all NACE principles, specifically those related to and stated within the Principles for Third-Party Recruiters.

Third Party Recruiters have access to Handshake with the following conditions:

  1. The client must disclose to UCS that the posted positions are within the organization, and UCS maintains the right to verify this information.
  2. Under no circumstances can student information be disclosed for anything other than recruiting purposes nor can it be sold or provided to other entities outside of the client for whom the résumés are designated.
  3. Third-party recruiters who directly charge candidates being referred for the position(s) are prohibited from receiving resumes.
  4. Contract recruiters may recruit on-campus, provided they identify to UCS and the students the name of the employer(s) represented.

Attendance at Georgia State University Career Fairs will be limited to a small number of agencies, organizations or individuals as determined by UCS on a first-come-first-served basis. The third-party recruiters permitted to participate must represent employers who have authorized them and must disclose, to the Career Center, the names of the represented employers.
